TL;DR: Acer is expanding its display lineup with a range of new Nitro gaming monitors and smart monitors designed to cater to a wide audience. The headliners are the blazing-fast Nitro gaming monitors, including the 600Hz XV240 F6, 520Hz XV270 F5, and 500Hz WQHD XV270U F5. Prices range from $349.99 to $799.99.
Let’s start with the models geared toward gamers, the Nitro UltraSpeed gaming monitors. These displays are positioning themselves among the fastest on the market. The refresh rate can reach an astounding 600Hz on the 24-inch Nitro XV240 F6 model. This FHD resolution monitor offers a 0.1ms G-to-G response time, boasts VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, and covers 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
A TN panel helps achieve that incredible refresh rate, prioritizing speed over image quality, unlike the IPS panels found in the other monitors released alongside it.
Joining the Nitro gaming monitor lineup are a couple of other options. First up is the 27-inch XV270 F5, featuring an FHD IPS panel with a 520Hz refresh rate and a 0.5ms G-to-G response time. It also offers HDR10 certification, 400 nits of peak brightness, and a 100,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
Then there’s the XV270U F5, which comes with a 27-inch WQHD IPS display, a 500Hz refresh rate, a 0.5ms G-to-G response time, HDR10 certification, 99 percent sRGB color gamut, 250 nits of brightness, and a 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
All three support AMD FreeSync Premium for smooth, tear-free gaming. Beyond gaming, Acer’s new lineup also includes two multi-purpose smart monitors.
Acer says that the expansive 31.5-inch 4K CS322QK smart monitor is ideal for those working from home or streaming content. This 4K UHD IPS model offers 98 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color range, supports the HDR10 video standard, and provides 350 nits of brightness for an immersive viewing experience.
Another option is the 27-inch WQHD Nitro GS272U smart monitor, which stands out by combining a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution with a refresh rate of up to 180Hz, making it an excellent companion for gaming as well.
All of Acer’s new monitors come equipped with the WebOS platform, allowing users to browse the web, work on tasks, and access streaming entertainment without needing to connect a separate laptop or device. Other convenient features include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, wireless screen mirroring via AirPlay and Miracast, and RJ45 ports for wired internet connectivity.
The Nitro gaming monitors will be available in North America starting in Q1 2025, with the 600Hz XV240 F6 priced at $599.99, the XV270U F5 at $799.99, and the XV270 F5 at $599.99. The CS322QK smart monitor is set to arrive earlier, in Q4 2024, for $599.99, while the Nitro GS272U will follow in Q1 2025 for $349.99.
